Our history
From Hotel Peru to Bio Boutique Hotel Xù
1967
Hotel Perù was built on the small plot of land in Via Metastasio, where once there had been a small house.
Giuseppe, who worked as a bricklayer with a small construction company at the time, had noticed this extraordinary piece of land and wanted to build a new hotel.
When he spoke to the engineers of the time, everyone replied that it would not have been possible to make a hotel out of such a small lot. Regardless of the engineers’ comments, Giuseppe independently produced a detailed drawing of counts and measurements, devising the central staircase based on the idea of recovering space for the construction of the rooms.
He thus had the project carried out as he had designed by an architect, and after taking over the area, he set to work on the construction of a hotel with 40 rooms.

1969
Hotel Perù inaugurated its first working season.
1982
Giuseppe left his job as a bricklayer and decided, together with his wife Caterina and his siblings-in-law Caterina and Alfonso, to start managing the hotel directly. Thanks to cordiality, friendliness and good Romagna cuisine, in a few years the hotel stood out as a meeting point for many Italian and European families wanting to enjoy summer holidays on the Romagna coast.
1991
Following the trend of a city that, thanks to investments in the fair centre and the Palacongressi, became an increasingly sought-after destination even in periods other than the summer season, Giuseppe and his children, who meanwhile made their way into the world of hospitality, invested in the hotel with a thorough renovation involving the rooms and common areas, providing them with heating and superior comforts.
This was also the time when the Riviera Romagnola was recognized as a place of music and entertainment. Young people from all over Italy went there to spend memorable evenings in trendy clubs and discos.

2000
This is the year of establishment of the Ambienthotels brand, which is the sign that marks the hotels managed by the small group headed by Giuseppe and Caterina’s children.
Seizing these opportunities, Hotel Perù, open all year round, became a reference point for both winter and summer holidays.

2016
A new turning point: the hotel decided, after many years, to turn into a B&B paying the utmost attention to the environment. The first objectives and projects began, and the rooms were renovated.
This way, the desire to address a modern international clientele and a type of hospitality free from time constraints and conventions took shape and awareness.
Such awareness was strongly oriented towards the promotion of territory and good living, taking advantage of the opportunities of ever-evolving Rimini.

2021
Hotel Perù Hotel reopened, completely renovated, glad to welcome its customers after more than 50 years of business with the same energy and desire to make them happy. Many friends today ask us “Why is it called Hotel Perù?”
Our family has no ties to the beautiful South American country. However, legend has it that in those years it was customary to name hotels after countries (there are still several examples in Rimini) and that just the day Giuseppe had to register the name of the hotel, a beautiful article about Perù appeared in the local newspaper, leaving him amazed.
Thanks to this love at first sight, he decided to give his hotel this name.
Today more than ever, our awareness of eco-sustainability is combined with the memory of a country with a wonderful territory, which makes nature and the Amazon Forest a cornerstone of culture and tradition.
We have also renovated the logo and name of our hotel, giving it a more modern interpretation: Bio Boutique Hotel Xù, which, combined with our payoffs, explains the orientation and our way of doing hospitality.
This Bio Boutique Hotel represents, right by its name, the warm, welcoming, enveloping atmosphere with which we want to serve our guests.
We promote a slow and light mobility made to appreciate the territory and the city of which we are ambassadors, as well as a selection of organic products and a short local supply chain.
“We like people and our planet” is the essence of a desire to always place guests at the centre of our work, alongside the awareness of how important the well-being of our land is.
